Ruth Baber Ginsburg was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 15, 1933.  She has spent 13 years in the Supreme Court and was appointed by Bill Clinton in 1993.  She Attended Cornell for her B.A. then enrolled into Harvard School of Law.  She later transfered to Colombia School of Law.  She is the first women to be on the Harvard and Colombia law reviews.  She has served on the National  Organization of Women (NOW) and also served on the in-house council for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).  Also, Ginsburg served on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Colombia Circuit.

Ruth Baber Ginsburg is the second women and the first Jewish member of the Supreme Court.  Ginsburg is known as one of the courts two most liberal Justices.  In 2007, Forbes voted Ruth Baber Ginsburg has the 20th most powerful women and most powerful women lawer.  She well known for being a excellent oral advocate.
