Anthony Kennedy

Anthony Kennedy was born on July 23rd, 1936. Making his current age 71. He grew up in Sacramento, California and was surrounded by the legal world all his life. His father was an attorney, and he took the position of a page boy for the California Senate when he was only 9 years-old. In an interview with Kennedy, he said that his position as a page boy made him close with Governor Earl Warren. He became acquainted with the governor’s children and would often times play with them in the mansion. He was a self-proclaimed study nerd in school and had a passionate interest in law. For college he attended both Stanford University and Harvard Law School. He was appointed by president Ronald Reagan on February 18th, 1988.

Kennedy tends to take strong liberal stances when faced with controversial issues. He believes gay marriage should be legal, and there should be more protection around that issue in general. He also believes that there should be restriction, if not elimination of the death penalty.
